Reston and Herndon sit along the Dulles Toll Road between Tysons and the airport, home to technology and government contracting firms, hotels that serve them and the mixed-use center of Reston Town Center. The airport is close, which makes early flights easier and late arrivals less tiring.

Short transfers to IAD for business travelers and residents; corporate travel between the corridor's campuses and downtown Washington; hotel pickups for visiting teams; dinners and events at Reston Town Center; weddings and gatherings at venues in western Fairfax and Loudoun; and longer transfers to DCA for those whose airline or schedule requires it.

Timing notes

The Toll Road moves well outside commuter hours and slows sharply within them, particularly eastbound in the morning and westbound in the afternoon. Reaching downtown Washington or DCA means joining I-66 or the Beltway, both of which deserve a margin. Route 28 to the south connects to Chantilly and Manassas.
