National Harbor, MD

National Harbor is a purpose-built waterfront district on the Maryland side of the Potomac, just across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge from Alexandria. It gathers a convention resort, a casino resort, hotels, restaurants and a landmark observation wheel in a compact area that fills quickly during large events.

Timing notes

Traffic into National Harbor converges on a few access points from the Beltway and I-295, and large conventions or headline shows at the casino create queues at arrival and departure times. The Wilson Bridge is the link to Virginia and slows at rush hour. Hotel pickups should be arranged at a specific entrance because the resorts are large.
