City & Sightseeing Tours

Private chauffeured tours of Washington and its surroundings at your own pace, from the monuments and museums to Georgetown, Old Town and Mount Vernon.

Washington rewards visitors who see it at their own pace. A private chauffeured tour lets you move between the monuments, museums and neighborhoods without a schedule set by anyone else, pausing where interest takes you and skipping what does not.

How a private tour works

Reserve the car by the hour, share what matters most to you and let your chauffeur handle the route. The chauffeur is a driver rather than a tour guide, but knows the city's roads, the most convenient drop-off points near each site and the times of day when certain places are quieter. Many guests combine a morning around the National Mall with an afternoon in Georgetown or Old Town Alexandria and an evening drive past the monuments after dark.

  • Monuments and memorials on the National Mall and Tidal Basin
  • Museums, the Capitol area and embassy neighborhoods
  • Georgetown, Dupont Circle, the Wharf and Navy Yard
  • Arlington National Cemetery and Old Town Alexandria
  • Mount Vernon and the countryside of Northern Virginia on a longer day

Practical notes

Some sites limit vehicle access or require timed entry, and the chauffeur will suggest approaches that work. A tour is a pleasant fit for visiting family, out-of-town clients, anniversary weekends and anyone with a few free hours between commitments.

The Escalade IQL offers the most room and a panoramic sense of the city; the Stelvio Ti suits a couple who prefer a lighter footprint.

Tours are booked as hourly service and confirmed by the team before they are final.

Questions

Good to know

All questions
How many passengers can each vehicle carry?

Seating varies by vehicle. Each vehicle page lists the number of passengers it carries comfortably, along with luggage capacity. As a general guide, the Cadillac Escalade IQL is the choice for groups and families, while the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti suits one to a few passengers. When you enter the number of passengers in your request, only suitable vehicles are offered. If your group is larger than a single vehicle allows, contact us about coordinating more than one car.

How much luggage fits?

Each vehicle page lists a luggage figure based on standard checked suitcases. Carry-on bags and soft items take less space, while golf bags, strollers, skis and oversized cases take more. When you tell us the number of bags in your request, we match the vehicle accordingly. If you are traveling with unusual items, mention them in the notes so we can confirm they fit before the day. Passengers and luggage share the cabin, so a full car with full bags may call for a larger vehicle.

Do you provide child seats?

Child seats can be requested when you book. Please tell us the age and approximate weight of each child so we can provide a suitable seat, and note that a fee may apply as listed on the Rates page. Parents are welcome to bring their own seat; the chauffeur will help with installation, but the parent remains responsible for fitting it correctly. Children must be secured according to the law in the state where the trip takes place.
